Hello! I'm Yanyi.

(pronounced YEN-yee)

I'm a Ph.D. candidate in Marketing at Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis. Before joining Olin, I received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Southern California and an M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago.

My research explores topics in consumer behavior, including corporate social responsibility (CSR), prosocial behavior, gift-giving, and social judgment

Growing up, my mom would often say:

"People are born kind."

That saying stuck with me and continues to inspire the questions I study today: Why do people give? How do we judge generosity?

Fun fact: I was once mentioned in Time for Kids for a research project—still one of my favorite surprises.

Feel free to explore my site to learn more about me and my research. If you have any questions, please contact me at l.yanyi@wustl.edu or connect with me on LinkedIn.
